migrating robins fill pasture in windermere, florida

I saw the most beautiful thing down the street from our subdivision coming home from a Saturday morning workout class. At the address 13608 Overstreet Rd Windermere, FL 34786-6300, property id 23-23-27-0000-00-024 , known as the Becks property, I estimate 100's of migrating robins were resting or maybe eating worms in the pasture. It was in the morning around 9-10 am that I saw them, and they were there for awhile because my husband went out shortly after I got home and saw them too. It was so pretty. I quickly identified them by their orange breast and it was gorgeous covering the entire green pasture. I have marked on this map where they were. They filled the entire area. The white arrow points to the location, and the orange outline is the pasture they filled. Usually this is full of cows but today it was not. It was full of robins.

Female Red-winged Blackbird.

What a treat! I never have photographed a female red winged blackbird. The males are at our feeder everyday and they are super easy to identify. being black with a tad of red/sometimes yellow on their wing, but, who would have guessed this is the female?

2 Bald Eagles land on rooftop

I was outside in my backyard with my camera taking shots of the birds, and heard a loud screaming noise. I only knew it was unusual and boy was I surprised when I looked up to see two bald eagles flying overhead. They were headed to the pond across the street. Grabbing my flip flops I booked it on over there. They landed on a rooftop of a home across the pond, and quite a distance from me, about two blocks away. 13259 Venetta Way, Windermere, FL. They stayed for a bit, and I had every opportunity to get some good shots. Little disappointed with the clarity, however, I didn't have a long lense, and I have never even taken a photography course. It was awesome though to just be able to see and take it all in. They really are breathtaking.

Mocker building a nest

The nest is being constructed in a topiary next to our front porch. The mocker allows me to sit on my front porch while he diligently builds not bothered. I am only a few feet away. You can see he even lands on one of my chairs. The nest is about 4 feet off the ground. It is under the eave of the house and next to a bush line. The mockers built in the same exact location last year. It is perfect because the nestlings can fled right to the podicarpus bush that goes around my porch. They don't have to jump out of anything.

gray catbird

I'm still waiting to get the perfect pic of my favorite bird. They always are partly hidden or my shot is blurred in a panic to catch him before he disappears again. It's been half a decade of trying now.

Mockingbird

Enjoying the loquat, it won't be long now before it is all gone. The wildlife has eaten almost all of it. Nothing wasted. I wish it had fruit all year. It's as busy as Grand Central Station here when it fruits.
