I stumbled upon super cuteness. Upon taking pics of these cutie pie birds (the adults) from too far a distance for my lense, I realized there was something very tiny moving about with them. To my surprise I find the tiniest little chicks with their parents, 3 of them. I think they must only be days old if that. I could not get any closer so this is the best I could do with the reach of my camera lense zoom power. I tried later in the da,y but, they were not together like this, running about in and out of grass and puddles of a pond that was recently emptied by a developer to reshape. The freshwater natural pond is only slowly filling back up. I now see there was one good thing, well 3 good little things that came out of a developer destroying habitat. It provided the perfect nesting spot for this family. They incubate for about a month. Clutch size is 3-5 eggs. The chicks will be able to fly in about 30 days. They may stay with their family long after flying. Click to enlarge
