The Red Winged Black Birds make no secret about their visits to the feeder. They come screeching in as if to say, I'm Here, LOOK at Me! I have no idea why they do this except to wonder if it is pure excitement because that just alerts me to go chase them away. Now I don't always do this but sometimes they overwhelm the feeder and they are little piggies. They were the first ones to learn to use the new feeder too! They'll keep going till it's empty. If I notice it is just one, I'll leave him alone, but, if it is a half a dozen or more, I'm up and at it with a good and loud screen door slam. Works every time!
