little blue heron

Juvenile little blue heron. Two days in a row I found him hanging around this yard overlooking Derexa Pond where the homeowners have a large parrot cage outside with three gorgeous little birds. He sits close to them and they all are very vocal. I have one pic of him expressing himself here. He has two legs, he just likes resting on one leg. This species was verified at whatbird.com as a juvenile with adult plumage still coming in. He will be the gray color eventually. Per darknight at whatbird.com - "molting into their breeding plumage".
