Tricolor Heron Fishin'

This was at a pond in Independence on the Bridgewater Crossing Road. The lighting was just right to capture how beautiful the coloring of this bird is, not only that, she actually has a fish in her mouth in a couple of shots.

Tricolor Herons

I'm in love with the tricolor herons. They are such a pretty species. Most of these pics were taken at the freshwater pond across the street from us. It can be confused with the Great Blue Heron which is bigger and does not have a white belly like the Tri. The Tricolor heron is more slender too.
