It has taken me a year to finally get a good enough picture of our hummingbird that visits frequently throughout the day during the spring and summer. He definately favors feeding on our black and blue salvia. This is a Ruby-Throated Hummingbird and I think it is a male. Not long ago, I got to talking to our local nursery that specializes in environmental consulting, preservation, restoration, and bioscaping and they said they hadn't seen a hummingbird in years since the increase in development in this area. I was pretty excited about ours. These images are all of the same hummingbird. Sadly, I think there is some damage to the beak/bill.
