The Twin Squirrels

I'm a little behind in my blogging but haven't missed the shots. The twin squirrels, we call them, Bananas and Nutty are hilarious to watch grow up. Here they are on 9/19/2012 hiding from me. Oh I forgot to send the announcement out, we had babies! They love the crape myrtles well for the obvious the bird feeder but they also love dried crape myrtle berries which I did not know.  I know the chickadees love them and recently have been watching the cardinals and the mockingbirds eat them too. Anyways, these two are a joy to watch run bonkers developing agility and speed with navigating different types of trees. They have crazy energy. A complete annoyance to the lizards and the doves. So far, they have not been abusing the use of the bird feeders and only take a nibble here and there so we are good.  They have a nest in our queen palm where the frond stems meet and the grassy brown stuff wraps up helping to hold the fronds in place. They crawl down in there.
