Land Development - Pond drain

The land was totally demolished and flattened next door to us. 80 acres of orange groves containing a couple ponds. Now they are draining a natural pond into our pond so they can totally reface and clean it up. I wonder what happened to all the fish in there that the wildlife ate including alligators and the bald eagles. The fish population was wiped out on our little pond they are draining into now shortly after a chemical application (100's of floating dead fish), what will the wildlife eat that relied on that? I guess they might be pushed out. If you look closely at this pic you can see a duck in the bottom right hand corner. Probably investigating all this craziness.

Pond treatment

Here comes another pond treatment by OC. Last time this was done within a week 100's of fish died and had to be cleaned up. Crossing our fingers!

cleanup dead fish by oc following chemical application

Two adult eagles were on the Derexa pond tonight about 7-7:30 pm. They were together on the rooftop at 13259 Venetta Way for a bit too. They flew away but one adult came back with a fledgling (I think) and ate a fish on the far bank with the submissive fledgling next to it. I didn't have my camera but another neighbor caught the bald eagle at the pond and photographed it posting it to Nextdoor.com. see my prior post.

This is what happened earlier in the day with County cleanup of what was left of 100's of fish that died and were decaying on the banks. Turkey Vulgars all over the place.
